All LIXIE Dead Blow striking tools feature a semi-hollow head casting that is partially filled with iron shot design,  for transfer of a more powerful and solid blow. Upon striking a surface, the urethane face absorbs a portion of the blows surface damaging energy. Immediately,  the shot moves forward  behind the blow, dampening the rebound and reassuring a solid force is squarely transmitted to the struck surface.

Each rugged head casting is cast of either malleable iron (Heavy Dead Blow) or non-sparking, hi-tensile aluminum (Light Dead Blow). Replaceable and interchangeable faces are held in the hammer head by steel inserts, allowing for adjustment for maximum work piece protection. Each hammer features a Grade A hickory handle joined to the head casting by the patented LIXIE wedge and epoxy bond. The carefully designed  LIXIE safety grooved handle allows users to grip the hammer comfortably but firmly, regardless of slippery oils or perspiration. The work applications for these versatile tools are limitless. LIXIE Dead Blow Hand Hammers and Mallets are available in 6 sizes, with a selection of two height weights in each size.

LIXIE Dead Blow sledges have the same features as the hammers and mallets. They are to be used where a heavy blow is desired, yet require the surface protection qualities of LIXIE Urethane. They are available in 2 sixes  with smooth Grade A hickory grip handles.
